Due to continued dry weather conditions and forecasted winds in our area, the fire danger is high. As a result, all burn permit issuance, permitted open burning and consumer fireworks discharge in Keene will be suspended until further notice. Please check our web page and until the “Red Flag Fire Danger” banner is removed, this open burning prohibition will remain active. Please call the on duty Fire Captain with any questions or concerns at 603-357-9861.

“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now….or will shortly. A combination of strong winds…low relative humidity…and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Always consult with local fire officials before engaging in any open burning activities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Never leave an open fire unattended and always extinguish campfires completely before leaving.” (weather.gov)
