If you’re willing and able, clearing snow and slush from the storm drain near your home or business can be a big help.

With temperatures expected to drop below freezing this evening, keeping storm drains clear can help prevent icy roads and sidewalks. Public Works crews are out working across the city, though we won’t be able to reach every drain before the freeze.

Clearing a nearby drain allows melting snow to flow properly instead of pooling and refreezing into hazardous ice. Even a few minutes can make a difference, but we understand not everyone is able to help. If you can, we truly appreciate it—thank you for helping keep Keene safe.

A few quick reminders:
A shovel or broom works great
Please stay safe and be aware of traffic
Do not remove the grate or push snow back into the street
