Good afternoon,
Casella Construction, Inc., continued making progress on downtown utility upgrades this past week, focusing on water main installation along the south side of Central Square toward Roxbury Street and Main Street, as well as service connections to buildings on the east side of Central Square.
Planned Work Activities
Monday, October 19–Friday, October 23:
Crews will continue underground utility work, with a focus on completing water main installation and service connections in Central Square, followed by pressure testing of the new water line. Sewer utility upgrades will also begin on West Street.
Additionally, crews will begin preparing for underground utility replacements on Main Street between Water and Emerald streets. Road signs will be installed next week, followed by tree removal and transplanting the following week.
Crews may work past 5:00 p.m. to take advantage of daylight and favorable weather, maintain productivity, and restore traffic and parking by the end of each workday.
