Dangerously hot conditions are expected with heat index values up to 110 possible Wednesday afternoon through Friday evening.

To prevent heat-related illness, please:
– Drink plenty of fluids,
– Stay in an air-conditioned room,
– Stay out of the sun,
– Check on relatives and neighbors, and
– Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

If you do not have air conditioning at home, some locations are open to the public during the day:

Keene public pools at Wheelock Park (Park Ave.) and Robin Hood Park (Roxbury St./Reservoir St.) are open Monday-Friday 1PM to 6:45PM and Saturday-Sunday noon-5:45PM (July 4th hours: 10AM-2PM). Pool fees are $2 per person, or season passes are also available. More information is available at Keene Parks and Recreation or keenenh.gov/parks-trails-recreation/.

The Keene Public Library is open to the public: Monday and Friday 10AM-6PM, Tuesday thru Thursday 10AM to 8PM, and Saturday 10AM-3PM. More information is available at keenenh.gov/keene-public-library/.

-The Keene Salvation Army
-Hundred Nights Shelter and Services
-The Monadnock Aging & Disability Resource Center
-The Keene Serenity Center
