The Keene Public Library and the Historical Society of Cheshire County are jointly digitizing our historical image collections and are putting those that are free from copyright restrictions onto the Flickr Commons. They are marked “No known copyright restrictions” because one of our institutions holds the copyright and/or we believe that they are in the public domain. Because neither of our institutions took the photos, however, we can not advise you as to whether these images can be used without obtaining additional consent nor for what uses you can make of them.

Although we believe that these Commons images are in the public domain, there may be other third party rights that apply to them in regards to privacy and publicity issues. You  are responsible for obtaining permission to use any of these photos, including but not limited to obtaining the permission of the person or people in the photo. Keene Public Library and the Historical Society of Cheshire County can not be responsible for any liability that results from your use of these images.

This fee helps to fund the Historical Society in its efforts to collect and preserve historical memorabilia.
