The Friends of the Keene Public Library play a vital role in enhancing library services beyond what is funded by the City, supporting programs, events, equipment, museum passes, and volunteer efforts that benefit the community. Celebrating 43 years of book sales, the Friends continue their long-standing tradition of semi-annual sales to help fund these contributions in alignment with library staff needs. The Spring Book Sale will take place April 24–26, 2026, offering a wide selection of affordable, high-quality used books, including a special $5 “Bag Day” on Sunday. In recognition of their impact, Mayor Jay V. Kahn has proclaimed April 24–26, 2026, as Friends of the Keene Public Library Days and encourages residents of the Monadnock region to attend the sale in support of the library’s ongoing programs and services.
