Michelle Grimes, Animal Control Officer (ACO) for the Keene Police Department, brings extensive experience and compassion to her role. With nearly 20 years in animal welfare, Michelle offers expertise in animal medicine, behavior, and well-being, with a special focus on the human-animal bond. Michelle's background includes over 15 years as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), including specializing in emergency and critical care. She has also been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer for 15 years, providing in-depth behavior modification for clients and their dogs. In addition to her clinical experience, Michelle has also served for years as an active Field Responder with the ASPCA and HSUS, deploying to assist with high-level cruelty cases in various capacities. Her diverse knowledge and experience allow her to assist investigative, behavioral, and medical teams based on the severity of need.
Michelle has completed Level 1 and 2 Animal Control Officer training through the National Animal Care & Control Association, earning national certification. She aims to complete continuing education and the annual training requirements for her certification.
