Liberty Utilities continues the installation of new gas line on the east side of Central Square and Casella Construction continues preparations for utility installation this week. To allow the contractors to safely perform their work, the following traffic detours will be implemented:
- Wednesday, 8/19 and Thursday, 8/20: Liberty will be working at the intersection of Washington Street and Central Square, requiring northbound traffic on Washington to be detoured up Court Street to Mechanic Street.
- Wednesday, 8/19 and Thursday, 8/20: Casella will be working on West Street, requiring westbound traffic on West Street to be detoured down to Gilbo Avenue over to School Street.
- Friday, 8/21: Liberty Utilities will be working at the intersection of Roxbury Street and Central Square, requiring inbound (westbound) traffic on Roxbury Street to be detoured up Franklin Street to Beaver Street.
Traffic signs, flaggers, and cones will be used to help protect the work zones, and traffic patterns will return to normal at the end of each workday.
