The City of Keene’s Fall 2026 Leaf Collection program will begin collecting from the first section of roads on November 9, 2026.

There is no daily collection schedule. Please have your leaves raked to the edge of your lawn by 6:00 AM on the date listed next to your street. This is the first day of collection for your section, not a guarantee that crews will be on your street that day.

Crews will work daily from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You may continue adding leaves to the edge of your lawn until crews have collected from your street. A second pickup is not guaranteed if crews have already serviced your street.

Important Reminders

• Keep storm drains clear. If you have a storm drain near your property marked with a yellow fish stencil on the pavement, please remove any debris that could block drainage. Do not rake leaves over storm drains. Keeping drains clear helps prevent flooding and hazardous conditions.
• Never rake leaves into the street. This violates City ordinance, creates a safety hazard for collection crews, and may result in a citation.
• Place leaves properly. Leave leaves loose (not bagged) along the grass belt between the street and sidewalk, or at the edge of your property if there is no sidewalk.
• Only leaves and pine needles will be collected. Do not mix in branches or brush, which can damage equipment and delay collection.
• Stop raking once crews have serviced your street. After crews have collected leaves and cleared storm drains in your area, do not rake additional leaves to the curb, as they can clog storm drains.
• Drop off leaves for free. Leaves may be brought to the Keene Recycling Center/Transfer Station at 55 Old Summit Road, off Route 12 North.
• Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Streets marked “N/A” are not included. These are private streets or streets without City drainage systems and are not eligible for leaf collection.

Scammers are sending fraudulent payment requests to Keene residents and businesses that appear to be from the City.

Protect yourself from invoice and payment scams:

Be suspicious of any email or other communication that appears to come from the City and includes wire transfer instructions or unexpected payment requests.

Check the sender’s full email address carefully. Don't rely on the display name alone.

Never use contact information or phone numbers provided in a suspicious message to verify a payment request.

Before sending money or changing payment instructions, call the City office you normally work with using a phone number you already know or have independently verified.

The Keene Conservation Commission is hosting two invasive species removal workdays and is looking for volunteers to help maintain some of Keene's beautiful public spaces. Volunteers age 14 and older are welcome. No experience is necessary. Please bring work or gardening gloves.
