Traffic Impacts and Detours for Dinsmoor Woods Red Pine Harvest

The City of Keene is notifying residents and commuters of anticipated traffic impacts and detour routes associated with the upcoming red pine harvest in Dinsmoor Woods. Work is scheduled to take place Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 1, 2026, with activity occurring daily between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm on both sides of Maple Avenue. During this time, Maple Avenue will be closed, and traffic will be required to move through the surrounding Keene neighborhoods.

To help manage traffic safely and efficiently, designated detour routes will be in place throughout the week. One detour will be implemented on Monday, April 27, followed by a modified detour route in effect from Tuesday, April 28 through Friday, May 1.

The City emphasizes that safety remains the top priority in all aspects of this necessary forest management effort. Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, use caution, and follow all posted traffic controls and signage.

Residents should expect increased truck traffic in the area during work hours and are encouraged to allow for additional travel time.

On April 27, Maple Ave will be closed from Court Street to Pako Ave. The detour will route traffic to Old Walpole Rd to Sesame Street, to Melody Ln, to Dale Dr to Pako Ave.

April 28 through May 1, Maple Ave will be closed from Court Street to Melody Lane. The detour will route traffic to Old Walpole Rd to Sesame Street, to Melody Ln.
