Mayor Jay V. Kahn has proclaimed August 16, 2026, as First Responders Appreciation Day in Keene, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders across the Monadnock Region.
The proclamation honors the first responders who work together to protect local communities and recognizes the event’s celebration of camaraderie among departments. This year’s event also honors the memory and legacy of Deputy Mark Chamberlain, who dedicated his career to public safety.
Mayor Kahn also thanked event organizers, sponsors, and vendors for bringing the community together to recognize and celebrate local first responders.
