Community Recognition KSC Men’s Basketball

This 2025-26 Basketball season was a rebuilding year following a Division 3 Final 16 appearance last season, and with the loss of the teams 2 leading scorers Octavio Brito, Division 3 Player of the Year, and Wesley Odiase.

  • The team finished 20-11, battling their way to the little East championship game, and winning the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship. They won this Championship without playing the 3 seniors on the team, with the intent of giving returning players championship level experience.
  • This season marks the 5th straight 20-win season for KSC Men’s Basketball
  • Junior Guard Jordan Cooper (Goldsboro, North Carolina) had a breakout first season for the Owls – was named 1st Team All Little East Conference and 2nd Team All Region, and had the dunk heard around the country on February 25th in an LEC quarterfinal win versus RIC. The dunk ended up #5 on ESPN SportsCenter’s top 10 players the following day.
  • Senior Forward Leo Chaikin (South Hero, Vermont) was named 2nd Team All Little East Conference
  • Sophomore Center Denis Wainaina (Nashua, New Hampshire) was named Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year and finished the season with 109 Blocked Shots, second most in the country, and shattered the previous single season blocked shots record in Keene State Basketball history (Jeff Hunter, 83, 2022-23).
  • Three players eclipsed the career 1,000 college points barrier over the course of the season – Senior guard Mitchell Shettles (New Albany, Mississippi), Senior Guard Ryan Blakey. (Akokeek, Maryland), and Junior Guard Jordan Cooper (Goldsboro, North Carolina)
  • The team continued their dominance at home in Spaulding gymnasium, with a 13-3 home record and a 69-9 home record since 2020.

The greater Keene community can take pride in being the sixth player on the court spurring the owls men’s basketball teams to a remarkable 69 –9 Home Court Record since 2020.

Thank you, Coach Steve Enright, and your team for sharing the best show in town, carrying Keene area basketball fans through our winter season. You almost help me wish for winter of 2027.
