City Councilor Inauguration To Take Place January 1st

The City of Keene will hold the Inauguration of City Councilors-Elect on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The ceremony marks the official swearing-in of newly elected and re-elected members of the Keene City Council.

“On New Year’s Day, we continue a tradition by inaugurating the 2026-2027 Keene City Council,” said Mayor Jay Kahn. “Each of us ran because of our pride in the city and a desire to build on a legacy of success and progress. This Council will bring creativity, sound judgment, and representative government to the decisions needed to sustain and enhance the quality of life in our city.”

The following councilors will be inaugurated to serve their respective terms:

Ward 1:     Kris E. Roberts, term ending December 31, 2029
                  Jacob R. Favolise, term ending December 31, 2027

Ward 2:     Edward Haas, term ending December 31, 2029

Ward 3:     Molly Ellis, term ending December 31, 2029

Ward 4:     Catherine Workman, term ending December 31, 2029

Ward 5:     Philip M. Jones, term ending December 31, 2029

At Large:   Bettina A. Chadbourne, term ending December 31, 2027
                  Randy L. Filiault, term ending December 31, 2027
                  Mitchell H. Greenwald, term ending December 31, 2027
                  Michele Chalice, term ending December 31, 2027
                  Laura Ruttle-Miller, term ending December 31, 2027

The inauguration is open to the public. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this important civic event as the City Council begins a new term of service.
