The City of Keene Public Works Department announces the following construction activities and traffic impacts for April 7–10, 2026. Motorists, residents, and trail users are asked to plan ahead, use caution, and follow all posted traffic control.
- Keene Transfer Station/Recycling Center – April 7 (8:00 AM start) – SUR Construction West, Inc. will be installing a water line at the Keene Transfer Station/Recycling Center. Traffic on the access road will be reduced to alternating one-way to accommodate this work. Normal traffic conditions are expected to be restored by the end of the business day.
- 44 Maple Avenue – April 8 (9:00 AM start) – Pappas Contracting will be repairing a sewer service at 44 Maple Avenue. The road will be closed to through traffic and detoured around the work area. Please seek alternate routes. Normal traffic conditions are expected to be restored by the end of the business day.
- 440 Winchester Street / Cornwell Drive – April 8 & 9 (8:00 AM start) – Allain Site Work will be installing water services within the Cornwell Drive right-of-way in the area of 440 Winchester Street. Traffic will be alternating one-way at times on Cornwell Drive. Traffic on Winchester Street will not be affected. Expect delays and consider alternate routes. Work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
- Appel Way Trail – April 9 & 10 (8:00 AM start) – CM Minkler will be paving Appel Way from the Court Street trail intersection to Wheelock Park. The trail will be closed during construction and is expected to reopen by the end of the business day on Friday, April 10.
- 310 Marlboro Street – April 10 (8:00 AM start) – MME Construction will be installing water services to 310 Marlboro Street. Water service will be shut off between #259 and #310 Marlboro Street and is expected to be restored by 2:00 PM. Traffic on Marlboro Street will be alternating one-way at times. Normal traffic conditions are expected to be restored by the end of the business day.
