Keene Comes Alive Proclamation- May 29, 2026

The City of Keene celebrates the participation of third grade students and teachers from its elementary schools in the 2026 Keene Comes Alive Project, organized by the Keene Lions Club and the Keene School District. This initiative helps students explore local history and the community’s role in the founding of the nation.

As part of the Monadnock 250th celebration, students are encouraged to continue learning and to take part in community events, including decorating bikes and participating in the parade alongside their schools.

Mayor Jay V. Kahn has proclaimed May 29, 2026, as Keene Comes Alive Day, recognizing the dedication of educators and community partners while encouraging students to engage in learning and celebration of the region’s history.
