Mayor Jay V. Kahn has proclaimed September 13–19, 2026, as Adult Education and Family Literacy Week in Keene, recognizing the important role adult education plays in expanding opportunity and strengthening the community.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Keene Adult Education served learners through adult diploma and HiSET preparation, English language programs, and skilled trades education. More than 90 students earned diplomas or completed their HiSET exams, while 91 English language learners from 30 countries participated in the program and 134 students took part in skilled trades programs.
The proclamation celebrates the achievements of adult learners and recognizes the educators, staff, and volunteers who help strengthen Keene’s workforce and community.
