Mayor Jay Kahn is hosting a community bike ride on Saturday, May 16, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (rain date: Sunday, May 17, 2026). There will be two routes that participants can choose from. Route 1 loops around East Keene. This ride starts at 11:00 AM at Railroad Square on Main Street in Keene, near Local Burger. The route goes east on the Cheshire Rail Trail (CRT) up to Eastern Ave. Bikers will ride west on Marlboro St. to Grove St., turn right, and proceed to Water St., and then left on Carpenter St. to view Patricia T. Russell Park. Then back to Railroad Square via Church St., 93rd St., and CRT.
Route 2 will be a loop around West Keene. The loop will start at 11:45 AM at Railroad Square, head west on the Cheshire Rail Trail (CRT) over North Bridge Multi-Use Overpass to Pritchard, then north on Blossom to Arch St. Bikers will bicycle through Wheelock Park, to Appel Way to Johnathan Daniels Trail along the Ashuelot River. The route crosses West St., then goes down Island St. and turns east on the CRT back to Railroad Square.
