Keene State College Senior Men’s Basketball Proclamation- April 3, 2025

Mayor Kahn presented a proclamation at the City Council meeting on April 3rd, 2025, to congratulate the graduating seniors of the Keene State College Men’s Basketball team for their outstanding achievements, unwavering dedication, and exemplary representation of our community, and encouraged all citizens to wish them continued success in all their future endeavors. The Keene State College Men’s Basketball has achieved unparalleled success, highlighted by a four-year record of 98 wins to only 17 loses, four consecutive Little East Conference championships and Division III NCAA tournament appearances, losing this year to the eventual NCAA champion, a national ranking of fourth in the nation out of over 400 Division III colleges and hosting two opening round tournaments bringing recognition to both Keene State and the City of Keene. Octavio Brito’s four-year Keene State career culminated in being named the Division III National Player of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, finishing with 2,206 career points (2nd best ever), and earning All-American honors for three years. Octavio’s record includes being in Keene State’s top 10 in many categories including third in baskets made, fourth in three-point shots made and 40 percent of all attempts, fourth in free throws made (81%), nineth in assists and steals, fifth in rebounds, sixth in blocked shots, in short, the greatest KSC men’s basketball player over 60 years. Mason Jean Baptiste has left a permanent mark on the Keene State College Men’s Basketball program, finishing his career with a record 121 starts, 1,416 points (12th best ever), and 263 made 3-pointers (4th best ever), earning 2025 LEC 2nd Team All-Conference and All-Defensive honors. Nate Siow’s exceptional all-around play, marked by 119 starts, 1,068 points, 499 assists (3rd best ever), and 205 steals (5th best ever), has been pivotal to the Owls’ success, earning him two-time LEC 2nd Team All-Conference and All-Defensive recognition. Spencer Aronson’s sharpshooting skills, placing him 9th all-time in 3-pointers made and 7th all-time in 3-point percentage, have been a crucial offensive asset, leading to his 2025 LEC 2nd Team All-Conference selection. Spencer Mirken’s dedication as a Student Manager has been instrumental in the program’s most successful four-years, contributing significantly to practices, games, and recruiting efforts. The graduating seniors of the Keene State College Men’s Basketball team have demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill, and sportsmanship throughout their careers, contributing significantly to the rich tradition of Keene State College Athletics leaving a legacy of excellence and dedication that will inspire future generations of Owls.
