The City’s Pavement Preservation Project continues Friday, August 15, 2025, on the following streets:
- Bridge Court
- Gilsum Street, from Howard Street and Colony Court to the north end
- North Street
- Perham Street, and adjacent street Harmony Lane
- Richardson Court
- School Street, from West Street to Gilbo Avenue
- Woodburn Street
Work is scheduled to begin after 8:00 AM and will continue until completion, expected by 4:00 PM.
Weather permitting, the contractor will be fog-sealing the pavement in a mobile operation. The spray-applied asphalt sealer cannot be traveled on without damaging the surface and possibly transferring the material onto vehicles. In addition, pedestrians and pets should stay out of the road until it is opened to traffic.
Roads will be temporarily closed for up to two hours, including all driveways and street access from adjacent neighborhoods.
If unable to stay home or leave for the day, project abutters are encouraged to observe the arrival of work crews in their neighborhood and plan accordingly.
Detours will be posted, and traffic personnel will assist in directing vehicles away from the work area. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes during the specified work hours.
