Wastewater Treatment Plant Open House
Thursday, April 16, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Rain Date: April 17, 2026

The City invites community members to attend a Wastewater Treatment Plant Open House on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at 420 Airport Road in Swanzey. A rain date is scheduled for Friday, April 17.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the water after it goes down the drain? This open house offers residents a chance to find out. Visitors will be able to explore the facility, learn how wastewater is treated before returning to the environment, and gain a better understanding of the important role the plant plays in protecting public health and local waterways.

Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet Wastewater Treatment Plant staff and ask questions
  • Take guided tours of the facility
  • Learn about how the treatment process works

The Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Swanzey, is funded through sewer rates, and the City is planning more than $10 million in proposed capital investments between FY2027 and FY2033 to maintain and improve this critical infrastructure.

Residents of all ages are welcome. Whether you’re curious about the treatment process, interested in local infrastructure, or just want to see behind the scenes of an essential City service, this is a great opportunity to learn more.
