Mayor Kahn read a proclamation at the Keene International Festival on September 27, 2025 encouraging all citizens and individuals in our City to learn about the many cultures that are represented in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire and do further acknowledge and recognize the rich contributions different cultures have made to humanity. Keene International Festival showcases and celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the Keene community through activities that engage and connect people to each other. The Keene International Festival was established by a group of local educators and community organizations in 2017, and this group has come together to plan this event every year since its inception. This year’s festival attendees can enjoy music and dance performances, international food, and cultural games from various countries and regions, including Egypt, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mali, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Rwanda, and Somalia. Cultural representations for Asia, the Middle East, and Hawaii will also be presented. The Keene International Festival is a family-friendly, multicultural and multi-generational experience. This year’s event occured Saturday, September 27th from 11am-3pm at the Keene Parks & Recreation Center. The Keene International Festival, scheduled the day before the DeMar Marathon, attracts guests from around the nation and makes a statement that Keene is a welcoming, diverse and vibrant community.
