Mayor Kahn presented a Proclamation at American House Keene’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s benefit event declaring September 26, 2024 a day to honor the late Norma Walker for her important commitment and service on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association. Norma Walker, a Hancock, NH native and Swanzey, NH resident, was a dedicated volunteer for the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Norma was a caregiver for her husband, Edwin, who had Alzheimer’s and through which she found a connection to the Alzheimer’s Association. Norma facilitated an Alzheimer’s support group through Home Healthcare, Hospice, and Community Services for several years. Norma captained the “Giving Care 24/7” team and raised thousands of dollars for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s which is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
