Project Update: Winchester Street Reconstruction

On Monday, July 25, 2022 the City’s contractor, BUR Construction, LLC, will activate the temporary traffic signal at Key Road in the existing configuration. This will allow removal of the existing traffic signal and completion of the proposed roundabout. The temporary signal heads are slightly higher than the existing heads, please maintain adequate distance from the signal to ensure you can see them.

Wednesday, July 27, 2022 the City’s contractor will shift traffic lanes to the west to allow the first phase of roundabout construction work, which is expected to last about 2 months. This will be done using concrete barriers, temporary lane striping, and adjustments to the temporary signal. A minimum of one lane in either direction and a left turn lane at the Key Rd. intersection will be maintained. The southern access into and out of Riverside Plaza will be blocked for the duration of this phase to improve safety. Delays are expected, especially as drivers adjust to the new pattern. Please plan your travel accordingly.
