Ward Optimization Weeks

We are thrilled to launch a new City of Keene initiative: Ward Optimization Weeks (WOW). From September 9 to October 11, our Public Works Department will focus on one ward each week, tackling maintenance, improving infrastructure, and addressing your needs.  Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • road maintenance
  • repainting crosswalks
  • replacing worn traffic signs
  • trimming roadside vegetation
  • sidewalk maintenance
  • painting hydrants
  • repairing leaking valves
  • cleaning & inspecting sewer mains
  • cleaning and repairing storm drains, culverts, and ditches,
  • park and trail maintenance
  • general maintenance including graffiti removal and clearing of litter.

Here’s the WOW Schedule:

  • Ward 1: Sept 9 - 13
  • Ward 2: Sept 16 - 20
  • Ward 3: Sept 23 - 27
  • Ward 4: Sept 30 - Oct 4
  • Ward 5: Oct 7 - 11

Join Us for Ward Wednesdays!

As part of the WOW! effort, Keene Parks and Recreation will showcase parks, trails, and amenities on Facebook and Instagram. Plus, join the Community Development Department, partnering with the Keene Public Library at our kid-friendly Community Nights with food, yard games, giveaways, and raffles for local gift cards. These Community Nights are an opportunity to mingle with your neighbors and for staff to hear from you about neighborhood issues and priorities.

  • Ward 1: Sept 12, Pat Russell Park, 4:00-5:30 PM
  • Ward 2: Sept 17, Robin Hood Park, 4:00-5:30 PM
  • Ward 3: Sept 24, Fuller Park (Rec Center), 4:00-5:30 PM
  • Ward 4: Oct 2, Wheelock Park, 4:00-5:30 PM
  • Ward 5: Oct 8, Wheelock Park, 4:00-5:30 PM
