Keene Energy Week Proclamation- September 19, 2024

Mayor Kahn presented a Proclamation to Michael Winograd, member of the City of Keene’s Energy and Climate Committee, declaring October 2024 as National Energy Awareness Month in Keene and the Mayor encouraged all citizens to celebrate by participating in energy and climate change education. Clean energy and energy conservation are important to Keene’s energy future as they reduce pollution and reliance on a diminishing supply of non-renewable energy sources. The City Council of Keene adopted goals and a plan to move the City and community to 100% renewable sources of energy for electricity by 2030 and 100% renewable sources for thermal and transportation needs by 2050. The City of Keene and its residents, businesses and other organizations are making great strides to reduce energy usage and transition to renewable sources and that should be celebrated.
