City Promotes Don Lussier to Public Works Director

The City of Keene is pleased to announce the promotion of Don Lussier, City Engineer, to Public Works Director, effective June 10, 2024. Mr. Lussier, a seasoned professional with decades of experience in civil engineering, joined the City in 2016. 

As Public Works Director, Mr. Lussier will oversee a wide range of essential services that directly impact the daily lives of Keene residents, businesses, and visitors. His responsibilities will encompass the management and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure including roads, bridges, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, solid waste, and fleet services. His leadership will be essential in high-priority projects including the upcoming Downtown Infrastructure Improvement Project.

Elizabeth Dragon, City Manager, expressed her confidence in Mr. Lussier’s ability to lead the Public Works teams, stating, “Don has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical knowledge, and a deep commitment to serving the Keene community. His recent experience managing complex infrastructure projects including streets, sidewalks, roundabouts, bridges, and grants management makes him uniquely qualified for this position. His leadership with the recent Winchester Street project was instrumental to its success. We are fortunate to have him at the helm of this important department, and I am confident he will continue to drive innovation and excellence in all aspects of our Public Works operations.” Mr. Lussier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Hampshire, and holds FEMA Emergency Management Institute certifications. He served ten years in the US Army and subsequently accumulated over two decades of experience in civil engineering. He has played a key role in the successful completion of numerous infrastructure projects.
