Public Parking Trends Assessment Study - Data Collection and Drone Use Notice

The City of Keene in conjunction with their engineering consultant, Weston and Sampson, will be performing a parking trends assessment of public parking including City parking lots and some on-street parking in the downtown area, on and in the vicinity of Central Square, Main Street, Court Street, Washington Street, Winter Street, Gilbo Avenue, Railroad Street, Washington Street, Roxbury Street, West Street, Church Street, Federal Street, Lamson Street and the general area therein. This work is scheduled to be performed from 7 AM to 9 PM on the following days (weather permitting):

  • Thursday, October 17th
  • Friday October 18th
  • Saturday, October 19th

If the weather requires the cancellation of any of these scheduled observation dates a notification of cancellation and notification of the rescheduled date(s) will be posted on the City’s website and social media platforms.

This work includes obtaining information and imagery in support of documenting parking trends by flying a drone overhead in the limits of the downtown parking trend assessment study area at an altitude of approximately 200 feet above ground. This work will be completed by an FAA- certified drone pilot and will be performed in conformance with FAA standards and requirements.

The Keene Police Department, Public Works Department, and Keene Airport have been consulted for the logistics and scheduling of these activities.
