Red Flag Fire Danger - No Burning Allowed
Due to current dry weather conditions, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Danger warning. Accordingly, all open burning in Keene has been suspended for at least the next 24 hours. We will remove the notice from the Keene Fire Department web page when the suspension is lifted. Please reach out to the duty shift at Fire Headquarters at 603-357-9861 with any questions or concerns.
"A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Always consult with local fire officials before engaging in any open burning activities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Never leave an open fire unattended and always extinguish campfires completely before leaving." (weather.gov)
